First Insight is a member of the CCHIT Eye Care Work Group, which includes members from professional organizations, such as AAO, ASCRS and AOA. Currently, CCHIT testing criteria is not yet available for eye care specialty EMR/EHR software. However, the CCHIT Certification Commission has committed to providing eye care specialty testing criteria for optometry and ophthalmology before 2011. This timeline may change to an earlier date due to the emerging requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act EHR Stimulus Bill. Once CCHIT releases eye care specialty criteria, First Insight will immediately begin the process of ensuring that our software products are CCHIT certified. |

What type of technical platform do you use? |

MaximEyes SQL was built on a powerful .NET/SQL platform and was created from the “ground up” – with the guidance and intense testing from practicing ophthalmologists and optometrists. MaximEyes 10.0 and higher uses FileMaker Pro, an award-winning (more than 49 awards) easy to use database. It is one of the most customizable databases available today that combines stability and flexibility with extensive data capacity. FileMaker Pro is used by individuals and small businesses everywhere, all of the top 50 universities in the U.S., the top 250 U.S. school districts, and 70 of the Fortune 100 companies. |

What types of training do you provide? |

First Insight strongly believes in providing hands-on, comprehensive onsite training for every client. Our certified trainers are highly experienced in the eye care and software industry. On-site training at your practice is included with the purchase price of maximEyes and the number of days will vary depending upon the size of your practice and the modules you opt to buy.
First Insight is unique in that we provide a second follow-up training session, IN PERSON, on more advanced questions that inevitably come up once you have the momentum going.

All maximEyes clients receive electronic comprehensive training guides, quick reference guides, and other support materials. In addition, all documents are available 24/7 on First Insight’s “For Customers” website at http://customer.first-insight.com. Clients can easily download important e-claims and billing news, VSP Catalog updates, search for hundreds of frequently asked questions, and other important industry-related news. |

Is your software HIPAA compliant? |

MaximEyes is HIPAA compliant for privacy, security and transaction codes. First Insight is approved and certified as a vendor by most major insurance companies and clearinghouses covering almost all states to submit EDI claims in the HIPAA Compliant ANSI X12N 837 (Version 4010A1) format.
MaximEyes is compatible for submitting the CMS 1500 (08/05) Claim Form that incorporates the National Provider Identifier (NPI). The purchase price of maximEyes is based on which modules and links you purchase, as well as the number of maximEyes licenses you require for each workstation. What options do you offer for electronic medical billing? |

With our Electronic Claims module, you can transmit claims data from maximEyes directly to Medicare, Medicaid, and BlueCross BlueShield in most states, and to major commercial insurance carriers via a clearinghouse. MaximEyes is HIPAA compliant for electronic claims submission in the HIPAA compliant ANSI X12N 837 (version 4010A1) format.

We also highly recommend that you hire a certified hardware and networking technician to assist you with all installations, networking, and upgrades. We highly recommend that you use Microsoft® certified MCSE technicians and always follow-up with references. |
